Parlor Tricks

We can safely say that most of the DFSers reading this blog don't know what a documentary is. That's ok...yall go back to your coloring books. Snack time is in a bit, and they gave us extra juice boxes. By chance if you aren't of the knuckledragging bred, you might want to check out the documentary FASTBALL on the Netflix. Well made, and pretty interesting, it's worth a watch. Maybe on a night were the slate is slow, or there are nothing but shit show match-ups.

DFS Notes Badass Of The Day- 7.28.16

Read this article and learn about one badass mamajama

DFS Homer Picks 7.28.16

Last night was bust city...21-20

Tonight's nine games don't offer much on the big boomers but there is a chance you can mess around with some different line ups in cheap games and give it a run.

Carter- Race, Race- Carter

There is no way I can fathom why I haven't introduced two of the smartest dudes I know to each other. Sure they span different time periods in my life, as well as great geographical, and political devides, BUT damn! I'v been missing out. We've the DFS Notes crowd, slinking on the fringes of what is socially acceptable in the DFS world, are being denied fireworks that could make the book of Relevation look like a company picnic. Thankfully a recent article sparked my brain to life and created hopes that we might get these guys to square off on the battlefield of politics.

This Is What Passes For Journalism In 2016?

Two Fridays ago , a pretty power band of storms passed through the south leaving the usual storm damage. Normally, because I am my father's son, my heart pounds out of my chest with excitement. Weather is a hidden interest of mine. I don't really know what the lines on the weather maps mean, but I love a good storm. Plus, I have to watch the weather to see if I need to put the top on my Jeep. Nothing is worse that a wet ass driving to work. So when the headline of Angela Fritz's article caught my attention as I flipped through the online Washington Post, nothing was out of the ordinary.

DFS Notes 7.27.16

Moonbeam, Potatomasher, and Osage Shine can all stay in Endicott! Which is great news cause their next assignment was Sparta, MS. That's never good....Plus Jay Bruce dingered so let's run it up to 21-19

Jedd "Do The" Gyorko looks like a good pick, though 7 long balls in 9 games might be a bit much. Especially having played a double header yesterday. Still I'd buy the ticket and take the ride.

The Jays look good. We've picked against Perdomo a bunch and he typically comes through

Look at the Rockies too...they seem to be lighting up like a the LAeX...

I'm in the wind you knuckledraggers...Peace

DFS Homer Picks 7.26.16

The game I told you to stay away from produced one long ball, and Ian Desmond went yard so I'll take the win. 20-19

Like Led Zepplin said, "It's been a long time" since I called on a Redleg of Ohio but tonight we're gonna go with Jay Bruce. Matt Cain's numbers are only slightly better at home than on the road, and they're bad on the road. Bruce looks like the Jay Bruce we've seen in the past

Skills That Make Me A Nightmare For People Like You.

I'm from Appa-LACH-a. Do we need to fight about it?

Having gone to college where I did, studying under who I did, and being where I am from, I can get a little touchy if people start dissing my homeland. Tobin thinks he's cute making me sound like Andy Griffith when he imitates me, but really I'd rather kick him in the elbow. Race is smart enough to not argue. Good for Race.

DFS Homer Picks 7.25.16

I'm to lazy to look at how I did Friday, so..I'm taking I win. 19-19
Happy Birthday Mom!

Tonight is one of the rarest or rares. Short slate, and shit show quality pitching. It's really a crap shoot this freaking hot Monday. Try out some different combos and see what happens.

Still, you might take a look at Kris Davis. He's got a good match up in a hitter's park. $ isn't an object

In the same game, Ian Desmond looks like a clutch pick.

You Don't Need A Weather Man To Know Which Way The Wind Blows

Every once in awhile, I'll get on a jag when trends today just frustrate the hell outta me. Today is one of those days. What trend you might ask. Bashing millennials.

Scrolling through my mediasocialinnerwebs, I came across a video that just left me shaking my head. Mich Tyler sings a cetchy little parody of "Life Goes On" by The Beatles making fun of what he calls millennials as man bun wearing, essential oils using, parent's house dwellers. Dude...just stop.

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Strategy - Xfinity Indianapolis

daily fantasy nascar xfinity
The Daily Fantasy NASCAR salaries at Indianapolis for the Xfinity series are tight. The Fantasy NASCAR Xfinity series salaries are always tight. The strategy feels dirty, but it's punt, punt, Kyle Busch, then pick 2.

Don't fight it. This has been the winning strategy all season. Don't believe me? Here it is from the guy that's wining at RaceDayScore.com every week.

daily fantasy nascar xfinity

You can try to fade the 18 car, and maybe with a limited amount of laps this week, it will work. It didn't work last week, but this week we're only running 100 laps, so at most, Rowdy scores 10 points (seems like a guarantee).

DFS Homer Picks 7.22.16

My games didn't give me much last night like I though. Even though the Fins 16 hit the Phils. 14 of those stayed in the park. I'll take the lost. 18-19

Ian Kinsler. Ian Kinser. Ian Kinsler. That's how sure I am of this pick. Maybe I just jinxed it by saying his name three times. Eh. I'm not out anything. I think the match up against newly called up Jacob Turner. You might try some other Tigers too. Miggy maybe. Turner is just too plebeian. Sorry pal.

Cowtown In the Spotlight

Maybe you're one of the few readers not related to me (hi mom,hi bug, hi dad), and maybe you've figured out that I'm not from the land of the long leaf pine...thank God!...but from the state that gave North Carolina the finger unofficially in 1722 and 1796 (officially). By now the DFSers are gone or glazed over. Didn't know you were going to get a history lesson with an article about Appalachian League baseball did you. Frittatas. In case you're confused, I grew up in Tennessee. This means several things. Not the least of which that I am a fan of minor league baseball, in particular the Appalachian League. I might have lived in South Atlantic territory (Roanoke) and currently live in an odd dimension where I can still pull for the Salem Red Sox (against the Winston-Salem Dash) and watch Carolina League (Greensboro) ball whilst driving no further, but the rookie leagues are where I learned about pro baseball. Thankfully my little patch of baseball heaven has been getting some national press.

Patrick Corbin's parents have had to move...again.....I'm still working on the dets but I'm thinking they're getting my apartment in Thomasville after I move. And that is the last time I trust Harry Truman...ok that's a lie. I always trust Harry S. Truman...18-18...500!!!

Check Yo'Self

It's never to early to talk about football if you are from the south. I've been know to crack VaTech jokes in the middle of the summer. Now is always the perfect time for a Bama jab. Being the great friend that I am, I've already been scouting tickets for when Race and Mrs. Race's Ohio Bobcats come to Neyland. I'll wear orange and they can sport green. But what I read got under my skin.

Daily Fantasy NASCAR - Optimal Lineups - Indianpolis

What can we learn? There can be a perfect lineup, but it's not like the perfect lineups at other tracks. Place differential plays make up a good portion of the top 10 in each race, but it doesn't come from value. Last year's top 15 fantasy NASCAR scores at Indy almost entirely came from the big dogs.

Normally, two to three value plays will crack the top 10 in Fantasy NASCAR. This week, getting a value play inside the top 20 is probably good enough at Indy. It also might make sense to take as many top tier driver in the 8s and low 9s to roster an extra big time driver. Just my early thoughts.

The charts and data, after the jump...

1. Kyle Larson (11,800) - This is his first time back since his "a star is born" performance in the inaugural Mudsummer classic in 2013. The kid is, was, and always will be a dirt racer. He was top 5 in both practices.

2. Christopher Bell (12,600) - He won this race for Kyle Busch Motorsports last year. Bell won a couple weeks ago at Gateway. He was 3rd fastest in practice 1 (2nd best long run speed) and topped the speed chart in practice 2.
