Daily Fantasy NASCAR from the Fringe - Daytona

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Plate Strategy, also not a real thing

Let’s look at scoring trends. That’s about the only sound advice I can give you other than “go get a dart board with driver names on it.”

Over the last 8 plate races, 45% of the top 10 DFS NASCAR scores started 30th or worse. With a six driver fantasy NASCAR lineup, 2-3 of your drivers should start outside the top 30.

DFS Homer Picks 6.30.16

As Race blew up my flip phone last night, I realized my math yesterday was wrong...There's a reason I was a history major. I'm idiot when it comes to math. Not like I didn't know it. Since Carpenter didn't ding one last night I am now 9-14....I did like my 69 jokes though

High Horse Much??

Bob Dylan was called a "traitor." Metallica "sold out". The moon landing was fake, and now...The Daily Show is "not politically correct" according to Twitter. Come on socialmediawebs! You're going after The Daily Show for making a joke? Really? Isn't that...um...their job? And don't give me that Trevor Noah is to blame crap. Let's get a few things straight.

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Show - Daytona - Episode 2

Daily Fantasy NASCAR - Daytona Summer Race (ep. 2)

Tobin Knows Best - WGC Bridgestone

It is extremely hard work to be great at something, it's even harder work to be great at everything. Such is life and I just have to endure what I have to endure. If you haven't watched the video that @Race4thePrize made me do on the Bridgestone, then there is no need to continue reading these two paragraphs. Shame on you, watch me speak! I am coming to you again this week with my immortal fade. Last weeks Golf fade underwhelmed (of course he did) and I saved you from total DFS annihilation. This week I was going to solely base my fade off of who @Race4thePrize decided was good, but he didn't do any golf research and frankly acts like he doesn't care. Make sure that you understand that this week is a NO CUT week. This means don't you dare come bragging to me about all of your golfers making the cut on Saturday, I will troll you until the end of time.

More DFS Opportunities

As if yall DFSers needed something else you could gamble on, I'm going to throw another stake to the wolves. Details are up to you.

In the past, I've mentioned other opportunities to set up DFS games. DIY shows, the bachelor/ bachelorette, Poker....but I have been missing the elephant in the room. Until NOW! And that elephant usually comes in the form of a young Asian girl, a paddle, and white balls........dirty pervs! I'm talking about ping pong, or professionally known as Table Tennis.

DFS Homer Pick 6.29.16

Last night's Baltmore- San Deigo game looked more like Creed v. Balboa fight. #Slugfest. Good thing someone called out that game. And Tulo shocked one in Colorado, so I'll take a win. 9-13. That's 69%. You know what they say...the "Cubs will shine in '69!"....or is it "69 is devine!" (Go watch the movie MASH)

I'm going to call one for Matt Carpenter. I like the match up against Edinson Volquez in Saint Lew. Carpenter nails righties, at home, and has been hot. The only real concern would be the price, but it should be worth it. I've picked on Volquez before, against the Cards too (I think) and it's paid off. Carpenter is just hot, other dude is just not.

Cargo hommer last night for the Rockies.....so I'll take the win. That brings my record up to 8-13. Not quite .500 but we're getting there.  Oh BTW Race, I washed that mixing bowl  of tomato soup that was in the fridge for 6 months.......Race wanted me to announce my record, so I did. 8-13.

Mike Trout is going to be the only player I call by name today. Why? Several reasons. One being, I think he'll smack one tonight at home against Scott Feldman. Another being, if he doesn't oh well. His offensive number have been through the roof. One draw back to this pick is the likely high price, BUT I've got an idea later on that'll help

Placing Blame Where Blame Is Due

I've been talking about why the collective public has the attention span of a goldfish. We can blame schools, and rightfully so, but the bulk of the blame falls on the media in which we consume so much.  What they cover and how they cover it should really be called into question if we want this crap to end!

DFS Homer Picks 6.27.16

There's a limited schedule tonight as we work our way to the 4th of July weekend and the All-Star break in just a few days. Dern! It's already the All-Star break!!! Plus there is a pretty solid slate of pitching.

With that in mind, take a look at the Rockies tonight. Yeah, I'm calling a stack. We are talking about the Rockies at home, in a hitters park, against an Adam Wainwright who has a terrible road record. Look at the Blackmon, Reynolds combo. Blackmon especially! Wainwright tends to get beat up by lefties. Both will come off at pretty decent prices.

Don't count out catcher Nick Hundley. He has put up some sneaky good offensive numbers. You know he'll be a value play.  Finally, don't forget DJ LeMahieu. The long ball isn't as much his thing, but looking at the baseball card says he's producing  the goods.

I have to be honest with you, I haven't read any of @Race4thePrize's picks this week due to me not wanting to lose money. I have seen a consensus love for Carl Edwards this week and after qualifying these "Experts" may have a point. Oh wait, they don't have a point. Yes, Carl has been good at Sonoma. Yes, Carl has had a great season and has a top notch pit crew. Yes, Carl is in Subway commercials, but he is not for me at Sonoma. I foresee a bigger catastrophe than the guacamole on subs deal at Subway. Carl will have to fend off AJ Allmendinger for 110 laps, as well as try to stay with the place differential scoring of Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson. The only place I see Carl going this week is backwards. You heard it here first!

DFS Homer Pick 6.23.16

First off we're going to take a moment of silence for Dr. Ralph Stanley who passed away yesterday.....bluegrass legend!

Having combed the DFS Notes archives, I'm going to go turn your attention on Marcell Ozuna. That's right...look at a Miami Marlin for some offense! Ozuna has been crushing the long ball over the last week despite having a slow game in Atlanta back on the 21st. Kyle Hendrick has been STRUGGLING with his control, making this a solid pick.  Likely you'll pay a little for Ozuna as hot as he's been, but in the long run it'll be worth it.

Daily Fantasy NASCAR from the Fringe - Sonoma

The Daily Fantasy NASCAR tour heads west to a road course in wine country. We’ll discuss Sonoma in a second, but first some wine stories.

I was once told that a jug of wine, not a bottle - a jug, you’ve seen it at the store, does the name Carlos Rossi ring a bell, I was told that a jug of wine is like time travel. If you drink a jug of wine, you will wake up in the future. Eight to ten hours of life will have disappeared. Please, do not try this. The eight to ten hours of life happened. You just don't remember it and it’s mostly embarrassing and borderline illegal activities. Don’t try this at home.

Music: The Felice Brothers

I may be opening Pandora's box by posting music. I promise to vigilantly watch over all of Baker's music posts and decisively reject his tin-pan alley wannabees.

The Felice Brothers are a diamond in the rough. They've never received much attention, but who does these days.

Well I wasn't so wrong in the Phil/Min game. At least there was A dinker in that one. That said, I've got the beard cut to a Joe Cocker, my Charles Daniels straw hat, signature Race4ThePrize swimtrunks and I'm ready to roll.

If I were a gambling man, which in a way I am, I'd lay good money on Miguel Cabrera to touch'em'all tonight. Price would normally be a problem with Miggy, but with a super limited schedule, you can splurge.  His OPS is well over 1 and home is where the homers are for Cabrera. 10 of his season 16 have been hit in the Motor City. Plus Adrian Sampson just doesn't have the major league experience to go toe to toe with the big. Tonight for the Tigers on the mound is Science Hill alum Daniel Norris. He's making his season debut after a spring training back injury. At the risk of being disavowed by my Dobyns-Bennett family....Go Topper GO!

Never Count Your Money Sitting At The Table

Athletes are in a weird place. I'll give them that. Unlike the rest of us who work for a living, they have to decide when to retire. While we can do our jobs until the grim reaper points a bony finger our way, professional sport players don't get that luxury. Hips break, bats slow, or you go to prison. As fans, we can see it. Players know it before we notice. Nosebleed debates ensue, talking heads on ESPN speculate. Yet, the athletes have to answer the looming question "When do I hang up my spikes?" No one will even notice when I just don't show up for work. In fact, I'm likely going to be discovered by the smell of my apartment.

Several different approaches to riding off in the sunset are out there. They're not all created equal though. At least in my mind.

DFS Homer Picks 6.22.16

Sheez! At this point in the season, this is a crap shoot

I'm still looking for a good play but on first glance, I'm digging Justin Upton in Detroit. Matching up against Iwakuma, he's about even. While his numbers are lower than other sluggers out there, he's been producing. At the price, he's a good pick.

There we go!! Here's who I've been looking for! Juan "Sittin On The Dock" Uribe. 3 homers in his last three games, means the 37 year old is heating up! Chris Archer really, really, I mean really struggles on the road too. Price wise, you'll not find a better play. Plus...Uribe chews Lancaster! My man!!!!

Finally, you might take a look at ANYONE in the Philly, Twinkies game. Bad pitching and weak offense may give you a good value play. #NeedAFiller

Honestly, I really don't even need to write anything and you guys would  probably just bask in the glow of my selfie for hours. However, I will be bringing you weekly knowledge of who not to play. So many times DFS Touts make claims and promises about players that will win you big money. I say that the only DFS Tout you should listen to is, well....me. But if you decide you don't want to read my plays articles at Fake Pigskin or Daily Fantasy Circuit that's perfectly fine and you can continue to lose money. Your loss is ultimately my gain, so it all works out in the wash.

DFS Homer Pick 6.21.16

Tonight, we're going with the guy I should'a picked last night. Who knew Strasburg was going to struggle like he did?

Get all over Justin Turner. Yeah, I'm on the bandwagon cause.. he pulled an early Britney Spears big time last night. Over the past week, Turner has been Miley Cyrus at home. He's Adeled (yeah I said it) 5 out of his last 7 games. I hate picking on Tanner Roark, but the numbers are like Shakira's hips.

Turner is hot..like Fergie's hump, while Roark isn't Beyounce on the road. Nor does he face righties that well.

Sure, you'll likley pay like a G6 for Turner, but hey...T-Swift it and pick him
